New Online Courses Enhance MSRB Educational Tools

Today, the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) released a series on online courses about muni market activities and regulation. MuniEdPro℠ provides real-world simulations with the goal of improving the understanding of the municipal securities market and its transactions.

Courses are a resource for anyone looking to enhance their understanding of how municipal securities are issued, sold and traded. However, the courses are designed for financial professionals who want to reinforce their knowledge of the municipal securities market and its regulations. Courses are available to anyone who wants to create an account, but do require payment of a $45 fee.

The MSRB intends to add more courses. Currently two are offered on the MuniEdPro℠ site:

  • The Decision to Borrow: Roles and Responsibilities of Market Participants in Fixed-Rate, Primary Market Offerings; and
  • Rules and Risks: Applying MSRB Rules in Relation to Municipal Market Risks.
