Featured Municipal Bond in the Market, Week of 04/18/2016
The Texas Transportation Commission is scheduled to issue a $615 million bond, backed by the full faith and credit of the State of Texas, the week of April 18, 2016. The Commission has issued and preliminary official statement, stating the reason of financing to be reimbursement of payment to the State Highway Fund for the costs of highway improvement projects, and the costs of administration. The State of Texas has a current unemployment rate (February 2016) of 4.3%, 0.7% less than the U.S. unemployment rate.
