Is “eating healthier” among your resolutions for the new year? Visit MyPyramid.gov for a variety of tools and tips designed to help you make more nutritional food choices. Based on your age, sex and level of physical activity, the site recommends how much you should be eating in each of the food groups. If that whets your appetite for more, you can click on a link to print a “meal tracking” worksheet, or take a more comprehensive assessment of your diet and physical activity for more personalized guidelines.
The site, sponsored by the National Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, a division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), also includes a detailed listing of the foods in each of the pyramid segments, as well as a special section devoted to nutrition guidelines for children.
