On September 30, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin announced the creation of “Bring New Orleans Back,” an initiative whose objective is to create a master plan to help in the economic, social and cultural rebuilding of the city in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The Mayor named 17 community leaders and citizens to the Commission, which will make its recommendations to the City by the end of this year. Through the “Bring New Orleans Back” web site, visitors can make a financial donation or volunteer to get involved in the program.
